Summer 7’s League

League Information

Sign up for DFHA’s 5th Annual Summer 7’s League! Games will be played on Monday nights at 6 or 7 p.m. on (Field TBD) at DE Turf. The address is 4000 Bay Rd, Milford, DE 19963. All referee fees are incorporated into team and player costs. Each regular season game will have one referee, and playoff games will have two referees. Teams are allotted ten players 18+ years of age and above for their roster. All games will also have a trainer present and is included in the fees. 

ALL players must register individually, whether on a team or as a free agent.

Player Registration 

If you are signing up as an individual on a team and the team captain is not paying in full, the cost is $115 per player.

If you are signing up as a free agent and would like to be added to a team the cost is $115 per player. DFHA we will reach out to you about your team assignment to connect you with your team captain. 

Team Registration:

All returning teams are set up for individual player registration and payment. Teams must have a minimum of 9 players. Teams under this threshold will be automatically assigned free agents and notified of player additions at the close of registration.

We are also offering new team registration for captains. By default, new teams must pay the $1000 team registration cost in full. If you are a returning team captain and would prefer to pay in full, also reach out to Chris, and we can adjust your team’s setting.

If your team captain has paid in full, up to ten players will be free. There is a $115 discount for paying in full. Adding more than ten players to your roster would cost an additional $115 per player and is capped at fifteen players for added roster flexibility during the summer months.

As a reminder, all players must still register individually regardless of the payment amount due. They must be verified as being over the age of +18 to be represented on your team’s roster, and player participation may be checked against your roster at any time.

Format

This adult co-ed field hockey league has seven players per team playing small-sided games.

The field will be split in half, and two teams will play head-to-head on each side. Four teams will play on one full-size field. DFHA provides one referee for each game. As of now, all games are scheduled on field 3.

Inclement Weather

DFHA will delay or reschedule games, adding rain dates if a game is canceled due to a lightning storm. If we get more than two weather cancellations, this could result in one-day back-to-back games. Everyone must step off the turf field if they hear a loud horn or siren from the central building. Due to unsafe weather conditions, we must wait 30 minutes before being cleared to return to the field. Chris Phillips or the referees will facilitate when players can return to the field.

If 75% or more of the game is complete, DFHA stops all matches due to weather. This will finalize the game. If under 75% of the game is played when it is canceled due to storms, it will be rescheduled as a complete match or modified as a shorter game. DFHA Directors will determine this.
